When you think of Los Angeles, you probably think of West Hollywood or Beverly Hills. Well, there is a new hot spot and that is Culver City. Culver City is located between downtown L.A. and Santa Monica. Whether you're coming to the greater Los Angeles area for shopping, nightlife, visiting the hottest restaurants or anything in between, The Shay can be the perfect home base away from the chaos.

The Shay is located next to L.A. E Metro line which can take you to Santa Monica which is only about 20 minutes away.

The accommodations at The Shay are very well thought out. They are simple, artistic and offer the perfect space to relax and recharge. During our stay in April of 2022, we stayed in a Premium King Suite with Private Balcony. The room featured a separate living and bedroom with a gorgeous bathroom that had a free standing tub and large walk-in shower. Our suite made us feel as if we were in a artsy loft.

You might be thinking, what's so special about Culver City? Well Culver City is having a moment and is home to Amazon Prime Video, Apple TV, Sony Pictures, The Culver Studios, and more. And located in the Arts District, the hotel offers tons of neighboring shops, restaurants and more.

For being a hotel in the city, The Shay offers some pretty amazing amenities including a rooftop pool, living room with billiard table, large fitness center and more. During our stay we used the fitness center which had plenty of cardio equipment including treadmills, ellipticals, Peloton bikes, the fitness center also had free weights, kettle bells and a squat rack.

The rooftop pool offers panoramic views of the city, but there isn't a lot of shade, so be sure to bring your suncreen. And if you plan on getting chairs at the pool, you're gonna need to get there early in the morning because by 11:30 am it was already full. It's a great spot to hangout and most people stayed at the pool for the day while enjoying cocktails and bites from Celestina.

One of our favorite things about The Shay is their main restaurant, Etta. Etta is a buzzing hotspot for local of the greater Los Angeles area. The food is incredible, we'd highly recommend the bread, pasta, chicken, burrata, and more. The ambience and the food will leave you wanting more. Oh and if you really want to have some fun do the Parrón & a Polaroid.

Overall, the hotel is very luxurious yet approachable. There are plenty of cozy spots to sit in the lobby and answer some emails, a great place to rest your head at night and with Etta and Celestina Rooftop you won't go hungry. And we loved our stay so much, we've already planned a couple nights back for our next trip to Los Angeles.
